Final Research Paper (40%)Each student is required to submit a final research paper (5,000
words) on industry risk trends and one of supplemental topic Options A – E below. Final paper is
due at Session 12. Industry Risk Trendsa. Select a “for-profit” industry sector and research:i.
Key industry players and current competitive forcesii. Current and emerging risk trends
facing the industryb. Select two publicly listed firms from the selected industry sector:i.
Compare the strategies for each firm and risks to the strategy ii. Describe the risks to the
firm (strategic, preventable and external hazards)Option A: Acquisition Riskiii. Describe the risks
that a potential buyer of the firm should be concerned about (industry risks, competitive forces,
firm risks)iv. Provide a recommendation on which firm is “higher risk”. Conclude on and justify
who you would invest in.Option B: Global Riskc. Assume that both companies selected intend to
expand to new global jurisdictions that they currently do not do business in. Select two
jurisdictions that the firm’s could expand to:i. Research country risksii. Recommend which

both firms should adopt.
