primary regions are situated in the southern parts of Australia which include the countries of
South Australia, New South Wales, Western Australia, Queensland and Tasmania.

who visit the wineries in the different regions to experience the wine production, sample the
wines and also have a feel of the cultural and social dimensions of the various wine producing
regions in Australia.

EXERCISE 1: Wine Region Analysis

The purpose of the Case Study is to develop ‘your own’ Winery, Cellar Door
and Food Operation in a given wine region. This will require your group to
evaluate the region, potential competitors, and tourism initiatives of the region.
You can choose where you would like your winery to be located within a wine
region, which is also where your cellar door will be located. AUSTRALIAN WINE REGION.
In the first workshop, groups will be formed and each group will be allocated a
different wine region within Australia.
Exercise 1 is to write succinctly/bullet points the key issues on the following
topics. This will assist in writing your final report. Ensure you reference all
factual statements made. AUSTRALIAN WINE REGION.

Submit: Hand in to your tutor at the commencement of your workshop.
Length: 500-1000 words (± 10%)
Format: 12 point, 1.5 line spacing, 2.54 cm margins all sides, aligned left, double sided.
Ensure title page includes wine region, name of winery, student names, student

Weighting: 5%. Only one report per group.
Groups: 3-4 students only per group.
