Analysis Written Report.
This assessment item is worth 20% of your final grade for this course.
Maximum 1,500 words +/- 10% (excluding figures, tables, and references).
12-point font Arial or Times New Roman. 1.5 line spacing. Left justified. Provide a brief introduction
and conclusion, presented in report format.

The report will be marked out of 20.
As the department manager you need to write a brief regarding your performance of your
department and the hotel overall.
Although you are working as a group whilst operating your hotel, the report must be written
individually. No part of the report can be shared or will be considered plagiarism resulting in a zero
As a department manager within your hotel, you have had responsibility to manage your
department over the last three years. Write up your performance as a hotel department head to
your General Manager.
1) Discuss the decisions and outcomes of your department for Years 1, 2 and 3 analysing any
adjustments made to the strategy/decisions and their results (9 marks).
2) Provide an analysis of the financial performance of your hotel (focus on its current position) and
the impact your department has made (8 marks).
3) Provide recommendations for Year 4 with a focus on your department and also include wider
issue(s) which may have been addressed in the previous question with regard to your hotels
performance (3 marks).
