MKTG7503 – Reflection on Videography

A reflection is looking back at what is already completed and assessing how the entire process was done. As a part of the learning process, a reflection helps a student to analyze how beset something was done and what should be improved if the process is repeated in future. A reflection helps in improving skills.  In this reflection, I asses my presentation on a video that compared and contrasted fast health and unhealthy foods showing calories count for portions of food that we take in each category.  The best way to reflect on this presentation is to use a standard videography assessment method (Sherry & Shouten, 2002; Wallendrof & Russle, 1989).  The reflection will therefore look at how the entire process from making the videography, research, and presentation. It will look at what went right, what need to be improved, and the lessons we learned from the presentation in light of 4Ts of videography.

Description

Team Research Film Presentation: Team Assessment (10% Weighting)
The team’s presentation will persuasively and clearly demonstrate: (1) the research insight informed
by the team’s secondary research (what was discovered from past research e.g., teams’ background
research); and (2) original research (evidence collected and synthesized for presentation in a
research film). MKTG7503 – Reflection on Videography.
The purpose of the presentation is for the team to demonstrate what has been learnt about their
selected topic of inquiry and how this contributes knowledge to an understanding of contemporary
consumer behaviour. During the presentation the team will discuss “why” the team adopted their
approach to studying the consumer behaviour topic and “what” the team discovered during the
research process. The team should aim to present an interesting 15 minute presentation of the
research film produced, which incorporates key points that demonstrate the:
1. research contribution and interest – succinctly outlines how your findings (1) aligns with any
current consumer behaviour knowledge ; (2) extends (or challenges) current thinking about
the consumer behaviour topic/issue; (3) provides a concise and comprehensive summary of
key implications relevant to future consumer research. MKTG7503 – Reflection on Videography.
2. relevance of the consumer behaviour study – how does your study (1) demonstrate the use
of theory to explain a contemporary consumer behaviour (2) how the research videography
approach reveals interesting insight into contemporary consumers.
3. challenges and limitations – what research and method challenges did the team identify
and how were these addressed by the team. MKTG7503 – Reflection on Videography.
Each team is required to submit a 5 minute film (20%) by the scheduled due date (Week 12 or 13).
Before completing the team’s film for assessment make sure to review the film marking criteria,
which is downloadable from the course Blackboard. On the day of the team’s presentation,
