Students will complete an individual research project as commenced in Planning Research Project A. The research project will address an area of relevance to the field of Urban and Regional Planning, and will include: detailed context discussion of the chosen topic area; a critical literature review that identifies a significant research question/aim and objectives; ethical considerations and seeking of university ethics approval where required; an understanding of the range of research methodologies that can be applied to solve the identified research task and the selection and appropriate justification of the chosen methodology; detailed discussion of the methodology applied in the research; analysis of primary and/secondary sourced research findings; discussion of the research results; recommendations for improved planning solutions and policies; and conclusions regarding the key thesis findings and contribution. The word limit for the thesis is inclusive of all text material in the main body of the thesis (excluding text embedded in figures or tables, thesis preliminaries, appendices, footnotes and the reference list ).
